Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards-S.
- Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
- Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress
- Customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources.
- Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to information learning and teaching.
Reflection:
Standard 2 acknowledges the diversity in student learning, ensuring that all students have fair and equal access for technology integration in learning. Student learning styles are paired with curriculum strategies that incorporate online learning. Student creativity is exhibited through both traditional and online formats.
Artifacts - Reflections:
Model Theory Paper - This paper is an assignment from Dr. Dedeaux's course, Instructional Design Theory. I especially enjoyed researching the concept of instructional design with technology integration. Also, studying learning theories and their relations to the ADDIE and Dick & Carey models inspired the findings that I wrote in the paper. This assignment reflects Standard 2 since it is serves as the foundation for additional assignments. Recognizing the purpose for a particular need or design is the beginning of instruction. Comprehending students' learning methods gives indication to the type of model to design. Once this is established, technology may be introduced to enhance the learning experience. This paper prompted me to further design and develop digital experiences for student learning.
Novel Formative Activity 451 Ch 1 - This formative assessment accompanies students as they read and evaluate chapter one of Fahrenheit 451. It was created through Google Docs and available for students to receive either as a group or as a download, depending on the teacher's preference. This project required me to consider my students' diverse learning abilities. The project could be aligned with whole class reading of the novel as well as with group collaborations. Since the assignment is a digitally-created formative activity allowing for diversity of learning styles and strategies, it reflects Standard 2.
Thinglink - This formative assessment is an excellent example of Standard 2. I learned the application and then linked materials that would further teach an important poem from Fahrenheit 451, "Dover Beach." My students could access the assignment / assessment from their iPads with the link provided. Content in the forms of video, audio, and writings may be accessed for additional teachings on a subject. I typically have my students e-mail me their reflections by the end of class. I designed and developed this digital experience and assessment for my English students. This assignment represents Standard 2.

Future Learning Goals: Completing this Masters degree has given me opportunities to consider my formative and summative assessments with my English students. Technology applications will help me further to evaluate students. Incorporating digital assessments that demonstrate student comprehension will provide greater analytics for instructional planning. Addressing student needs early will benefit not only individual students, but it will also help me to propel the students further with more opportunities to learn. Additionally, I would like to create an electronic checklist that will help students monitor their progress through tasks / skills. Allowing them to choose goals within my instructional goal framework will inspire their independence as lifetime learners.
